TRANSFERING FSMO ROLES

Step-1:
First domain wide opertaion master roles

RID,PDC,Infrastructure.
Step-2:
Goto Active Directory Users and Computers.
Step-3:
Connect to the domain controller where you have to
transfer the roles.

Step-4:
Then right click on the domain and select operation
masters.

Step-5:
Just click on the change tab and confirm for all the
three roles what you can able to see on the screen.

Step-6:
Then you have to change the operation master roles for
the forest wide operation roles.
  • Domain Naming master
  • Schema master role

Step-7:
Open Active directory domains and trusts.
Step-8:
Then right click on Active directory domains and
trusts the node and select the operations masters and
click change tab and confirm and close.
Step-9:
After that confirm and check whether you have connected
to the DC for you are transferring.

Step-10:
To transfer this role you have to create first the snap
in and for that you have to register the following in
the run command.
regsvr32 schmmgmt.dll
  • Then Click Start, click Run, type mmc, and then click OK.
  • On the File menu, click Add/Remove Snap-in.
  • Under Available snap-ins, click Active Directory
  • Schema, click Add, and then click OK.
  • To save this console, on the File menu, click Save.
Step-11:
First you have to change the change domain controller
for that right click on the node and change the domain
controller by typing the DC name where you have to
transfer.
Step-12:
After that change the schema master role by right
clicking on the schema node and goto operation master
and change.
All the operations master's roles have been changed
now....
